JeM terrorist held in Budgam, another arrested in Awantipora

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorist in Budgam district, officials said on Thursday. Tariq Ahmad Bhat was arrested during a ‘naka’ checking late on Wednesday night, the police officials said.
They said a pistol and some incriminating material were recovered from his possession. Bhat had reportedly joined militant ranks in September this year.
Meanwhile, police in Awantipora have arrested one terrorist associate linked with proscribed terror outfit JeM.
He has been identified as Irshad Ahmad Reshi resident of Tral. He was involved in providing logistic support, shelter, transporting of arms/ammunition and explosive materials in Tral & Awantipora areas.
Incriminating materials including 10 Detonators, 01 wireless set, 02 wireless Antenna, 01 IED remote and contraband substance (Cannabis powder) weighing 5Kgs have been recovered from his possession. Case FIR number 101/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation into the matter is in progress.
