JAMMU: Sports medicine specialist from Jammu and Kashmir and former Handball player, Dr Karanjeet Singh has been made chairman of the important medical commission of the Boxing Federation of India (BFI).As many as 13 such commissions have been formed by the BFI for a period of two years, an order issued in this regard by secretary general, Hemanta Kumar Kalita mentioned.Dr Karanjeet replaced another J&K man, Dr Nirmolak Singh as head of the Medical Commission. Dr Nirmal remained a long serving individual to the important post.Further, the chairpersons of the commissions may propose to the Secretary General other names to be included in a particular commission. Earlier, the BFI took the decision about the nominations to various commissions during 15th meeting of the Executive Council of BFI. Younger brother of former India Handball captain, Ranjit Singh, Dr Karanjeet has been moved to neighbouring Himachal where he stays with family.
