Jammu: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday registered a disproportionate assets case in Police Station ACB against a Government employee working as computer operator-cum-motor transport clerk in Police Control Room (PCR), an official said.FIR 7/21 was registered against Charanjeet Singh after verification of allegations regarding acquisition of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, a spokesperson of ACB added.
He further said that the verification had revealed that suspect is in possession of assets which include immovable properties in Udhampur and Jammu and movable properties in shape of cars and other costly electronics gadgets and jewellery. “The value of the assets found in possession of public servant, namely Charanjeet Singh, son of Mohinder Singh, resident of House No. 19, Ward No. 17, Salian Tallab Udhampur at present Plot No. 73 Sector 7 Lane No. 8 Roop Nagar Housing Colony Ward No. 62 Jammu. The expenditure incurred by him is grossly disproportionate to his known sources of income and aforementioned facts constitute commission of offences punishable under section 5 (1) (e) read with 5 (2) of J&K PC Act Svt. 2006,” he said.As part of investigation, the spokesman said, searches were conducted at two residential houses located at Roop Nagar, Jammu and Salian Tallab in Udhampur district belonging to accused after obtaining search warrant from the court. During search, some incriminating documents were found and seized, he said, adding further investigation of the case is going on.
