JAMMU: Forthcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Elections to Managing Committee of Jammu Club have been suspended on government instructions in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.The notification issued by Returning Officer, Er Vinod Sharma reads, “Vide Order No.20-JK(DMMRR) of 2021 Dated April 17, 2021 Govt has issued instructions under the Disaster Management Act 2005 fixing the ceiling of number of persons permitted to attend gatherings/functions to 100 persons.”“In view of the fresh directions issued by the Government, it is not possible to conduct AGM and Elections to the Managing Committee of the Club and going ahead with the same would be a clear violation of the orders of the Government and also violation of the Disaster Management Act 2005,” it stated and added, “As such the schedule notified for forthcoming AGM and Elections to Managing Committee is hereby suspended.”
