President Jal Shakti (PHE) Employee Association and Vice President of Panthers Trade Union J&K UT.In the meeting, The speakers criticised the attitude of PHE Higher Authorities for ignoring the burning issue of the daily wagers/ employees / workers of Jal Shakti (PHE) Department who perform their duties during COVID-19 Pandemic as front line workers. “Govt. commissioned so many new water supply schemes in core without the provision of field staff, who run such schemes, the wages of existing daily wagers still pending for 65 months which should be released immediately, otherwise employees compel to initiate strong protest, besides commissioning of water supply schemes, permanent employees retired every year and burden comes on the shoulders of daily rated workers / existing staff, to run old as well as new commissioned water supply schemes” they said.They also highlighted that concerned Advisor & Commissioner / Secretary are not aware about the facts on ground nor do they bother to know about the condition of the workers (Backbone of the Department) that become worst day by day without wages. Immediate authorities of the Department i.e. Chief Engineer, Superintending Engineer & Executive Engineer should highlight the issues of the workers / employees in the meetings, but they ever remain silent. Ban imposed to engage / appoint new field staff by the regular Govt. should be revoked immediately to run the water supply smoothly. DA freezed since 2 year, but cost of every things enhanced day by day should be release immediately.Other demands projected in the meering were regularization of CP/ITI/Land case Workers, release of pending wages, Minimum Wages Act, pendency of SRO 43 cases etc. Som Nath strongly condemned the approach of the UT Govt. towards the workers / employees and appeal to all the workers / employees of the Department to unite for the purpose and strong protest.Other who spoke on the occasion include Vijay Kumar, Dinesh Kessar, Amit Dubey, Sham Lal, Prem Nath, Laxman Singh, Karan Singh, Kishore, Omkar Singh, Tara Chand etc.
