IT Deptt’s outreach programme ‘Mulaqaat’ held at Ramban, Poonch Districts

POONCH/RAMBAN: In continuation to their outreach programmes across the UT of J&K and Ladakh, Taxpayers Awareness Campaign, ‘Mulaqaat’ was continued on Wednesday in the twin districts of Poonch & Ramban of Jammu Province.
In Poonch, the Outreach Programme & Interactive Session was organised at Conference Hall, PWD Dak Bungalow, Poonch. The programme was attended by Sunil Kumar Gupta, President, Beopar Mandal, Poonch, Pawan Anand, President, Cross LOC Traders Association, Poonch and Paramjeet Singh Mintoo, President, Main Bazar Beopar Mandal, Poonch.
The prominent businessmen Rajeev Tandon, Naresh Phool & DDOs from different departments alongwith college students actively participated in the programme. The outreach programme was conducted by Hardeep Singh, Dy. Commissioner, CGST, Jammu and Anjesh Bharatiya, ITO and other Officers/officials from Income Tax & CGST Department.
The public was made aware of the various technological initiatives undertaken by both the Departments for ease of compliance and better taxpayer services.
Income Tax Department’s Tax Payers Charter, provisions related to capital gains, special exemptions available to Senior citizens and features of the new Annual Information Summary (AIS) report were also explained to them.
In Ramban district the Outreach Programme & Interactive Session was organised at Conference Hall, DC Office Complex, Ramban.
The programme was attended by Vikash Gupta, Representative from Beopar Mandal, Ramban, Sachin Verma, President, Swarnkar Sangh, Ramban. The prominent businessmen Gopal Krishan Raina, members from the Trades Association & others, DDOs from different departments, College and ITI students also participated in the programme.
The outreach programme was conducted in the presence of M.K. Rustogi, Pr. Commissioner, CGST, Jammu along with Ajay Rana, ITO and other Officers/officials from Income Tax & CGST Department.
The function was chaired by M.K. Rustogi, Pr. Commissioner, CGST, Jammu and presided by Rajinder Sharma, ADDC, Ramban.
The participants were motivated to contribute to the task of national building as honest and proud taxpayer.
The officers from the CGST department also explained the various facts of the GST regime including the ease of compliance initiative undertaken by the Department.
Sachin Verma, President, Swarnkar Singh, Ramban, Gopal Krishan Raina, prominent businessman and other members of the Traders Association raised various concerns regarding delay in receipts of Refunds, Slow working of the e-filing portal, e-way bills, Cash Payment limits and requested for increase in income tax exemption limits.
The College and ITI students also thanked the Departments for including young students like them in the outreach programme and expressed their views on the issues raised during the programme. Various queries raised by the attendees were also promptly answered by the Departmental officers and it was assured that the feedback received on budget expectations, suggestions, queries & representations received will be communicated to the relevant forum.
