International Nurses Day: Army felicitates nurses working in COVID-19 management


Bhadarwah: To encourage and boost the moral of nurses who have been rendering their tireless services in Covid-19 care and management since last 2 years after working with full dedication after outbreak pandemic, Army based at Bhadarwah celebrated ‘International Nurses Day’ by felicitating 60 nurses of Bhadarwah at Sub District Hospital Bhadarwah on Wednesday.
While interacting with Nurses, Army officer said, “we have seen the devastations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. In almost two years since the pandemic began in 2020, the world has seen over 160 million coronavirus cases and over 3 million deaths worldwide. The pandemic has burdened our health infrastructure unlike ever before. However, despite the magnitude of the situation, our health workers viz Doctors, Nurses and others, have been at the forefront fighting the virus and saving lives and on the eve of International Nurses Day we tried to express our gratitude by felicitating them in a small little way.”
BMO Bhadarwah Dr Shakeel Ahmed Sumbria said that Nurses are the backbone of our healthcare system who have been risking their lives for months at a stretch. We are grateful to Army for recognising their efforts and encouraging them in these testing times.
While expressing their gratitude to Army, the Nurses posted in different hospitals of Bhadarwah said that this for the first time in last 2 years that someone has considered our efforts and encouraged Nursing fraternity in such a beautiful way and for this beautiful gesture we are grateful to Army.
Meanwhile Army also felicitated Nurses on the eve of International Nurses Day at PHC Bhalla, PHC Goha(Marmat), SDH Gandoh & Trauma Hospital, Khelani. The nurses were handed over customised gift hampers along with appreciation certificates for their sacrifice, selfless service and noble gesture to the nation in this difficult times.
