Infamous woman drug peddler apprehended with Charas

RAMBAN: Ramban police on Thursday arrested an infamous drug peddler Zareena Begum and recovered 465 grams of Charas from her possession at Ramban.
As per details, Police Station Ramban received information that a habitual drug peddler namely 50 years old, Zareena Begum was selling drugs at Gandha Nallah under new bridge Kowbagh. Acting swiftly, a party headed by SHO Ramban Insp Pardeep Sharma swung into action. On seeing police, the accused drug peddler tried to flee from the spot, but after a hot chase was arrested by SI Mamta and SPO Chanchla Devi, near Shan Palace on national highway.
On search before the concerned magistrate, Charas like substance weighing around 465 gm was recovered from her possession. It is pertinent to mention here that accused woman is a habitual drug peddler and has been active in the area for a significant time period. In this connection FIR No 66/2021 under sections 8/20 of NDPS ACT was registered at police station Ramban and investigation was set into the motion.
