Industrial skill course inaugurated at GDC Kishtwar

KISHTWAR: GDC Kishtwar organised a virtual inaugural ceremony of Industrial Skill Course on ‘Digital Marketing’ under the capacity building programme & Skilling initiatives of Higher Education Department, UT of J&K in collaboration with Central University of Jammu (CUJ) and ICT academy. The program was conducted under the guidance of Principal GDC Kishtwar, Prof. Anirudh Sharma and supervision of course co-ordinator, Prof. Mohd. Yaseen Sirwal.
Proceedings of the event were presented by Prof. Mohd. Yaseen Sirwal who briefed the students about this course and its applicability in fetching employment especially in this COVID scenario. Principal GDC Kishtwar presented formal welcome address and addressed students. He thanked Dr. Devanand padha, Chairman cum Administrator, Project on Employability Training (PET) and Prof Jaya Bhasin, Project Director PET for managing this skill course for the students of GDC Kishtwar. He further applauded Project team of CUJ including Dr. Shahid Mushtaq, Dr Bacha Babu, Dr Sanjay Kumar and Dr Neelika Arora of the project, for there sustained efforts to bring this course together for the students of GDC Kishtwar. Dr Shahid Mushtaq apprised the participants that the course will be offered by CUJ in collaboration with ICT Academy.. He explained how the course is going to increase Employability generation and Entrepreneurship.
Earlier Dr. Neelika Arora, Project Coordinator and Senior Assistant Professor School of Business studies, CUJ briefed the students regarding the course outline and inspired the students to grab this opportunity. She briefed that the initiative is a unique opportunity that the Department of Higher Education has brought for the youth of J&K. In an endeavour to enhance the employbility skills of the youth, various skill based programs have been initiated. It is with the dedicated efforts of Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of CUJ, the academic partnership with DHE materialized. Due to his intervention these efforts are seeing the light of the day on ground. The inaugural session was culminated by proposing vote of thanks by Prof. Romana Akhter thanking Principal GDC Kishtwar for gracing the occasion and also other participants.
Virtual inaugural ceremony was followed by an orientation course by Dr. Asif Ali, Assistant Professor School of Business Studies CUJ) using PPTs on Digital Marketing where he explained its various phases and stages and impressed upon its importance and applicability. Lastly question answer session was carried out regarding various queries of participants. Dr. Bachha Babu, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Project Managers, Udit, Pranav, Ashish and Pratima, officials of CUJ were also present during the program.
