Illegal excavation, transportation of Sand/ Bajri; 2 persons arrested, vehicles seized

SRINAGAR: Ganderbal police launched a drive against illegal mining along banks of Nullah Sindh and arrested two persons for illegal excavation and transportation of Sand/ Bajri. Besides, two vehicles were also seized from the spot.
As per details, a party from Police Station Kheer Bhawani led by SHO Police Station established a special Naka near Nullah Sindh, intercepted two tippers bearing registration numbers JK05A-4007 and JK0AL-1642. The drivers identified as Towseef Ahmad Dar, resident of Gangerhama and Tariq Ahmad Mir, resident of Syedpora Harwan Srinagar were found indulged in illegal mining to excavate Sand/ Bajri. They were arrested and shifted to Police Station where they remained under custody. Both vehicles used in commission of the crime were also seized. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 10/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kheer Bhawani and investigation has been initiated.
