‘IIA J&K centre transforms into J&K Chapter of IIA’



JAMMU: The Indian Institute of Architects, Jammu & Kashmir Centre, under Northern Chapter, has been transformed into Jammu & Kashmir Chapter of Indian Institute of Architects. In a press handout issued here, the office bearers of IIA J&K Centre told that present centre has been upgraded to ‘The Indian Institute of Architects, J&K Chapter’. The formation of Jammu & Kashmir Chapter of IIA has been accepted by President and announced in the IIA Council meeting (COM 2) held at Chennai, they added. The present team of IIA Jammu Centre, including Vikas Dubey – Chairman, Vishal Abrol – Vice Chairman, Anil Verma-Joint Secretary, Sanjeev Mahajan -Treasurer, Navin Gupta – EC member, Satish Bhagat – EC Member and Vishal Bhatti – EC member, worked relentlessly and tirelessly for formation of Jammu & Kashmir Chapter of Indian Institute of Architects.
Pertinent to mention here that Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) Centre was fully in J&K since January 27, 1996 under Northern Chapter, with more than 100 active members as on date. The IIA centre has been playing a major role in promoting architectural profession in the Union territory by bringing architects on one platform and trying to resolve different issues related to profession. The centre has been organising various activities like Building material exhibitions, symposia’s, conferences, etc. in order to increase awareness about profession amongst common masses.
