IGP Jammu declares open Cricket camp

POONCH: The IGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh on Monday inaugurated a 21-day long Cricket coaching and fitness camp, organised by senior cricketers, at Sports Stadium, here. The IGP interacted with young and budding cricketers of the district, who are part of the camp, and encouraged them for hardwork and determination to achieve the set goals. The IGP was accompanied by the DIG (Poonch Rajouri range), Vivek Gupta, SSP Rajouri, Chandan Kohli, SSP Poonch, Romesh Kumar Angral and other senior police officers of the district including ASP Kalid Ameen, Mudasir Choudhary, Sachin Gupta, Manish Sharma, M.A Qureshi ( all DySPs). Incharge Manager of the Sports Stadium, Nirdosh Kumar officials from the Department of Youth Services and Sports were among others present. “Around 80 boys have been shortlisted for this specially designed camp aiming at improved fitness and cricketing skills of the boys in different age groups. A number of senior cricketers have come forward to guide the youngsters without charging anything,” informed Pawan Kumar, who is a qualified fitness trainer of the BCCI. Pawan, who is part of the senior cricketers’ group, thanked the district police and civil administration as also the J&K Sports Council and the DYSS for extending a helping hand.
The camp is being supervised mainly by Pawan Kumar and Pervaiz Malik, who is Chairman EHSAAS Foundation.
