Rajouri: Apni Party Vice President Ch. Zulfikar Ali on Tuesday demanded early assembly elections and restoration of Statehood to J&K.While addressing a largely attended public meeting at Targani village in Budhal, Ch. Zulfikar Ali said that there is no representation to the people of J&K in the Govt which works without taking into confidence public representatives. The public representatives and people in general have fed-up with the bureaucratic attitude, he said.“There is alienation among people from the Govt and its policies. The situation demands holding of early assembly elections in J&K to replace the present system of Governance with an elected Govt,” he said. He further said that the developmental works are going on at a snail pace and there is no accountability of officials on delaying works which ultimately led to the suffering of the common masses.“The elected Govt is answerable to the people. However, the babus have no such responsibility. In the present situation, the officials are running Govt with additional charge and the shortage in administration being filled up by bringing officials from out of J&K, but it will not be able to win the confidence of people,” he said. The Apni Party Vice President said that the Govt and administration also not on one page and their differences often add more worries and problems for the people.“The assembly elections should not be delayed further,” he demanded again. The Former Minister, Ch. Zulfikar Ali said that the people want statehood to be restored as soon as possible.
