JAMMU: Historic Mughal road connecting Poonch-Kashmir Valley was reopened for vehicular movement after three days on Tuesday. Mughal road was closed for three days as a precautionary measure due to heavy rains and snowfall in the area. The traffic department has given permission to vehicles to ply on the route after snow was cleared completely from road. Although commuters told that route is still slippery, but vehicles can comfortably pass through the route. Mughal road connecting district Poonch of Jammu division and Shopian district of Kashmir gets closed frequently due to snowfall.With help of army and police, some people trapped in snow were taken out and shifted to safer places. On Sunday afternoon, as soon as weather cleared, the Mechanical Department started its work of clearing snow and by Monday evening, the road was fully opened for vehicular movement.
