Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board’s (JKSSB) arbitrary decision to reschedule Computer Bases Test (CBT) Exams has put lot of aspirants in jeopardy without any fault of theirs because the responsibility of conducting hassle-free exams was solely on the shoulder of aforesaid Board which showed extreme level of carelessness in conducting the aforesaid exam because there was complete chaos in the three centres leading to deference of the exam to January 24, 2022.The high-headed JKSSB without giving a thought to the hardships which the affected aspirants will pass through especially on account of weekend lockdown, alarming surge in fresh COVID cases and vagaries of weather as heavy rain is predicted, has rescheduled the exams on January 24, 2022. Those sitting at helm have shown extreme level of indifference towards the aspirants especially the outstation candidates who are in dilemma without any fault and are moving from post to pillar to download new admit cards as their exam has been deferred and is rescheduled on Monday just after the end of lockdown which will remain imposed on Saturday, Sunday and till early morning on Monday. The apathetic JKSSB has simply come out with a lame excuse of technical snag due to which certain exam centres remained affected and forced the concerned officials to defer the CBT exam. It would have been much better if the JKSSB would have given some more days to the aspirants to take the test as the situation these days is precarious on account of a spike in the coronavirus cases. Besides, the officials didn’t care about those candidates who have come from hilly districts of Poonch and Rajouri after facing lots of difficulties on account of recent heavy snowfall. The aforesaid Board needs to ensure a fair deal to all the aspirants but the difficulties which the affected candidates are facing have marred the objective of delivering justice and therefore the concerned officials should revisit their decision to give ample time to the aspirants to once again come prepared for the exam which have been deferred without any of their faults.
