Heroin consignment recovered

MENDHAR: In a successfully conducted joint operation by Army and police, a consignment of heroin like substance weighing around 840 grams has been recovered from Mendhar town.
Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch Ramesh Angral said that acting on a specific input, a team of police in Mendhar alongwith Army’s 37 RR and NCCIU launched a joint operation in Dharana area of Mendhar.
“During search, a hidden packet was found, which was put to frisking. Around 840 grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from it,” said SSP, adding that police team, which was part of operation, was headed by SDPO Mendhar Zaheer Abbas Jafri. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and investigation is going on to identify source of consignment and to nab the accused.
