Haryana boys to face Rajasthan, Bengal girls to meet Rajasthan in finals today

JAMMU: Haryana to face Rajasthan in boys section while Bengal will meet Rajasthan in girls section finals of the week-long 48th Junior National Volleyball Championship, organized by Volleyball Association of J&K in collaboration with J&K Sports Council under the auspices of Volleyball Federation of India at MS Stadium, here tomorrow from 9.30 AM onwards.
Earlier on day 5, Haryana defeated J&K by 3-0 (25-23, 25-18 & 25-18) in first semifinal while Rajasthan outplayed Tamil Nadu by 3-1 (25-17, 25-22, 20-25, 25-19) in second semifinal in boys section. In girls section semifinals, West Bengal trounced Haryana by 3-1 (25-27, 25-12, 25-16, 25-20) and Rajasthan beat Tamil Nadu by 3-2 (25-21, 25-27, 25-17, 21-25, 15-08).
After losing a well contested game from Haryana, J&K boys team will contest for the third place match against Tamil Nadu team whereas Haryana to face Tamil Nadu in girls section tomorrow.
In today’s matches, Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council, Pankaj Kumar Sharma Excise Commissioner J&K and Vijaypal Singh Chairman Control Committee of the Championship were the main dignitaries. Amongst dignitaries VFI/VAJK Officials also grace the event.

Quarter-Finals BOYS: J&K beat Telangana 3-1 (32-34, 25-20, 25-13, 25-17); Haryana beat Gujarat 3-0 (25-21, 25-24, 25-18); Tamil Nadu beat Delhi 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 26-24); and Rajasthan beat Uttar Pradesh 3-0 (26-24, 26-24, 25-22)
GIRLS: West Bengal beat Telangana 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-17); Haryana beat Gujarat 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-18); Rajasthan beat Andhra Pradesh 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-18); and Tamil Nadu beat Uttar Pradesh 3-0 (25-08, 25-19, 25-14).
