Gujjars attack SHO Bishnah, injured officer shifted to GMC

BISHNAH: Station House Officer (SHO) of Bishnah Police Station received severe injuries when a group of Gujjars involved in bovine smuggling attacked a police team with sticks and sharp-edged weapons.
The police team led by SHO Bishnah Tariq Yousuf was attacked by Gujjars when police team intercepted a vehicle transporting over a dozen bovine near Bishnah town. The group of Gujjars managed to flee after injuring SHO.
Locals and police have jointly launched a manhunt to track down bovine smugglers. Gujjars’ involved in operating bovine smuggling racket have been exposed, police said, while a manhunt has been launched to track down absconding Gujjars.
Meanwhile, Inspector Tariq is undergoing treatment at GMC Jammu. Bishnah police has registered a FIR against Gujjars for attacking police team.
