Grand ‘Mahashivratri Mela’ to begin at Peer-Kho on March 10



JAMMU: To commemorate ensuing Mahashivratri festival, Tourism Department Jammu will organise a grand ‘Mahashivratri Mela’ at famous Peer-Kho temple in Jammu. It was informed by Peer Rajinder Nath, Mahant Peer-Kho temple Jammu, while addressing a press conference on Monday.
Elaborating further, he said that 4-day long Mela will commence on March 10 at 4 PM, with formal inaugural function followed by cultural programme. “On March 11, grand celebrations will be held at temple with cultural programme starting at 4 PM. A Vishal Bhandara will be organised at 12:00 Noon in temple complex on March 12 followed by cultural programme at 4 PM. The Mela will culminate on March 13 with Dhawj Poojan at 1 PM and Vishal Dangal at 3 PM,” he added. Mahant Peer Rajinder Nath expressed gratitude towards all concerned officers and Departments for making necessary arrangements for smooth conduct of the event. He urged people to participate in the Mela in large numbers amid strict observance of COVID-19 SoPs issued by the Government.
Others present on the occasion included Mahant Rajesh President Madhav Trust, Yogi Karan Nath, Yogi Pawan Nath, Yogi Dharti Nath and Shashi Khajuria, Secretary LBN Raditions of Hope Cancer Foundation Trust.
