JAMMU: The District Congress Committee Urban has lambasted the Bharatiya Janata Party for allegedly having failed to fulfill the multiple promises made by it to the common people before coming to power.
In a statement issued here today, Vice President DCC Urban, Raj Kumar Goyal accused the BJP government of betraying the common masses by issuing luring statements to win elections and thereafter turning a blind eye towards the miseries of the people. He added that today the people are facing gross injustice in terms of unemployment and sky rocketing price hike of essential commodities amidst the uncertainties due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Claiming that atmosphere in the country at present is such that people are not able to live peacefully, he asserted that economy is in critical condition, and employment is not being generated. In such a situation, it is wrong to increase the price of essential commodities. The Central Government is taking up emotional issues, but till today justice has not been done to needy people, he said.
Goyal said that no one is supposed to question the Government about its policies, and those who do so are labeled as anti-nationals. He said, people are in dire trouble because of BJP Govt’s wrong policies.
Goyal specially mentioned about the BJP Government’s failure to control the daily hike of petrol and diesel prices during the last month which he termed as unprecedented hike. He demanded that in view of fuel prices touching an all-time high the excise duty hiked by the Modi government should be immediately rolled back to provide relief to the masses. Moreover, the inadequate health infrastructure in the hard time of the ongoing pandemic has further added to the woes of common man, he alleged.
The DCC Urban Vice President said that BJP failed to fulfill the people’s aspirations and masses across the nation especially in J&K have lost confidence in this party. He said people are waiting for the next Parliamentary elections and Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and they will definitely teach BJP a lesson.
