JAMMU: Government Polytechnic Jammu on Saturday organised a webinar on Entrepreneurship awareness in collaboration with Jammu Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKDEI), Jammu.The webinar was attended by the faculty and final year students of all the departments of the college. Principal of the college, Er Arun Bangotra, addressed the participants and impressed upon them to pursue innovations and entrepreneurship in parallel with the job placement to overcome their biggest challenge of unemployment.He said the purpose of organizing the webinar was to motivate the students, who want to be an entrepreneur, or those determined and ready to set up their own units, but lack professional knowledge.Vishal Ray, faculty JKEDI briefed the students about various schemes regarding startups, incubation centres and entrepreneurship traits to be developed to become a successful entrepreneur and to prepare students for the challenges in a positive way.Vikram Sharma, former regional manager in pharmaceutical company and at present a successful entrepreneur working as Director, VB Industries, also addressed the gathering and motivated the students to take their first step towards becoming a job provider rather than job seekers. All end to end inputs from project identification, selection to successfully running the ventures was provided during the webinar.The webinar was organized by Training and Placement cell of the college under guidance of Rajesh Khajuria, Training and Placement Officer. Er. Sakshi Kapahi along with Er. Jan Nazar Mohammad conducted the proceeding of the program.
