NOWSHERA: Police on Thursday arrested a man working in Government Animal Husbandry Department and recovered a pistol and six bullets from his possession.
Senior Superintendent of Police Rajouri Chandan Kohli said that on Wednesday late evening, an accident took place in which a car (JK11B-9271) driven by Jasvinder Singh, son of Amarjeet Singh, resident of Nonial Nowshera skidded off the road at Chatta Siot. “Soon after the accident, a police team led by SI Kamal Kumar under supervision of SHO Dharamsal Rajinder Sharma rushed to spot for legal formalities. On seeing police, the driver tried to escape from spot,” said SSP. He further said that police team chased the driver and managed to detain him. On search, a pistol and six bullets of 7.65 mm caliber were found from his possession. “The Accused was arrested from the spot and a case under relevant sections of law for carrying an illegal weapon was registered,” said SSP, adding that further investigation is going on in the matter.
