JAMMU: International Women’s Day was celebrated on Monday at Government Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu by Medical Superintendent Dr. Vandana Dogra under the guidance of Director AYUSH J&K, UT, Dr. Mohan Singh who also presided over the function as Chief Guest.Dr. Shashi Gupta, ex-Principal GMC Jammu and Gynecologist along with Dr. Swarnkanta Padha retired Medical Officer Ayurveda were Guests of Honour.The program was also attended by Assistant Director AYUSH (Ayurveda) Dr. Rakesh Raina and Assistant Director AYUSH (Unani) Dr. Sujad Shuja.Highlights of the program were free health check-up, blood tests, medicinal plant distribution and Yoga& life style counseling offered to the female patients. Special kits comprising of tonics especially for women were distributed among the participants. Medicinal plants which promote women health comprising Shatavari, Ashwagandha and Aloe vera were distributed among the participants.Aimil Pharmaceuticals distributed free medicines to the needy patients on the occasion. Punjab National Bank Jammu, under the guidance of Circle Head Sanjeev Dhupar, contributed gynecological instruments and equipments for the Department of Prasuti Tantra and Stree Roga under their CSR.Fun activities like Surya Namaskar challenge, Kapal Bhatti challenge making were also organized to in which the winners were given the prizes. The program was summed up with the slogan ” Swasth Nari hi Sashakta Nari”.
