GLDM organises webinar on ‘Career after Graduation’

HIRANAGAR: GLDM Degree College Hiranagar organised a webinar on ‘Career after Graduation’ under Manodarpan initiativeof Ministry of Education, Government of India in Collaboration with College IQAC. Ambica Kumari, Assistant Professor in Psychology, P.G. College for WomenGandhi Nagar and Nodal Officer Career Counseling Cell, Higher Education Department J&K, was the resource person of the event.
The webinar starts with the welcome address by Prof. Parveen Sharma convener career counseling cell. He extend his warm welcome to the worthy Principal Prof. Kuldeep Singh Kaushal, Prof. Ambica Kumari resource person and the participants of the webinar.
While delivering inaugural address Principal Prof. Kuldeep Singh Koushal said that Manodarpan-An initiative which is taken by human resources development under Atam Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan. It is actually aimed to provide psychological support to students, teachers and family members for their mental health and well being during the times of COVID-19.
Prof. Ambica Kumari resource person in her address explained different courses and Career aspects of students after graduation in her presentation. She further shared her experience and knowledge regarding success with participants. She encouraged students to explore new career options in the job market. She also highlighted the importance of psychometric testing before choosing any career option. She also highlighted new career opportunitiesthat emerged during COVID and Post COVID period. More than 100 students and staff members of the college virtually attended this webinar. An intensive interactive session followed the lecture.
Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Davinder Kour HoD Education and convener Psycholigical Cell. Others who were present during the webinar were Prof Sujad Khan HoD Computer Application and convener IQAC and Placement Celland committee members which comprised of Prof. Bhawana Jamwal, Dr. Anju Rani, Dr. Jyoti Rani. Prof. Neha Bhagat, Prof. Kiran Thappa, Dr. Sukhdeep Singh, Dr. Arun Kumar, Reetu Bhushan (Librarian), Prof. Usha Rani and Prof. Meena Devi.
