SAMBA: Govt. Degree College, Samba organised the Parent-Teacher and Alumni Meet under the aegis of IQAC of the college. The meeting was attended by the prominent parents and alumni, including external members of IQAC, Prof Jugal Kishore Sharma, Former Principal, Higher Education Department and Sh. Raj Singh, Councilor Samba among others.
The programme started with the lighting of the traditional lamp followed by Ganesh Vandana. The Principal of the college Dr. Naveen Anand in his address explained various measures taken by the college administration so as to stimulate the academic environment of teaching, learning and research in the institution leading towards realization of quality enhancement and sustenance. In the beginning, Dr. Ram Singh, member IQAC welcomed the guests and appreciated their gracious presence and gave a brief account of the basic purpose of this meeting.
Dr. Parshotam Singh Manhas, Coordinator of IQAC gave an exquisite power point presentation of various activities held in the college during last two years and role of NAAC accreditation of the institute in accordance with certain set parameters so as to bring qualitative reforms in Higher Education System. The parents expressed great pleasure and satisfaction on the academic performance and rich infrastructure of the college and exhorted the college administration to prepare the students of this area for civil services examinations. The alumni also appreciated the academic progression and infrastructural development of the college. The last year two students namely Madhu Devi and Priya Sambyal securing 6th and 8th positions respectively in arts stream were also felicicated by the college adminstration. The cultural programme was presented by the college students on this occasion under the supervision of Cultural committee which enthralled the audience by their performance. All IQAC members worked hard for the successful culmination of this event.
The programme was elegantly compeered by Dr. Manjulla Gupta, member IQAC. The meet ended with the formal vote of thanks by Prof. Purvaiya Hans, member IQAC.
