STATE TIMES NEWSR S PURA: Govt. Degree College, R.S Pura kick started the celebrations of India’s 75 years of Independence “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” by commemorating the Jallianwala Bagh Day.The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr. G.S. Rakwal, Principal of the college and supervision of Dr. Anuradha, Convener Cultural Committee in collaboration with Prof. Bindu Kumari, Nodal Officer, EBSB Unit. Prof. Neelu Gupta, Department of History was the Chief Guest on the occasion.In her address, she paid tribute to the martyrs of the tragedy and spoke extensively about the history of the event. The event started with a welcome address by the Convener, Cultural Committee.The proceedings were conducted by Prof. Esha Abrol. Students of different semesters presented a cultural programme comprising of patriotic songs, poems and speeches highlighting the sacrifices and valour of those people who laid down their life in the massacre. The programme concluded with formal vote of thanks by Prof. Jai Mala Thakur. The event was coordinated by Prof. Vijay Kumari, Kajal Premi and Dr. Sheetal Devi.
