NOWSHERA: The Department of Economics, Govt. Degree College Nowshera conducted National Level Webinar entitled “Aatmnirbhar Bharat and Current Account Deficit” on Monday. The webinar was presided over by Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal, GDC, Nowshera and Coordinated by Dr. Rubeenah Akhter, Faculty Department of Economics.The De-Globalisation forces that have emerged around the world in the last decade-particularly during pandemic, mandates a serious rethink in the extent and manner India should interact with the world. In this context, the webinar makes an effort to highlight need and significance of an initiative like Aatmnirbhar Bharat recently taken by the Govt. of India.Dr Rubeenah Akhter in her opening remarks introduced the theme and the purpose of webinar. She informed the audience that around 200 participants registered for the webinar which include various faculty members, research scholars and students from different states including Jammu and Kashmir.Dr Surinder Kumar, Principal of GDC Nowshera formally welcomed Resource Person, Dr. Sajad Ahmad Rather and appreciated faculty of Economics for organising National Level Webinar.Dr. Sajad Ahmad Rather, Assistant Professor, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, the Resource Person of this webinar explained in his elaborated presentation, the purpose and benefits of this initiative. The programme was concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Madhu Bala, faculty Department of English.
