JAMMU: In Jammu Municipal Corporation’s Swachh Survekshan 2021, Ward No 56 Gangyal, falling under Gandhi Nagar constituency, has emerged as number one in sanitation. On the occasion, a program was organised which was attended by senior BJP leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria; Secretary JMC Tina Mahajan besides a number of locals. While congratulating ward residents, Baldev Singh Billawaria said that the achievement is result of cooperation and efforts extended by all residents. “This success has been achieved through untiring efforts of people of Gangyal area, JMC officials, employees and media. People of Gangyal in general and Ekta Vihar in particular, are now disposing of dry and wet wastes in different ways through dedicated auto-rickshaws. Dustbin-free Ward No 56 will now move in direction of segregation of waste,” he added.
“Many development works have been done in the area, whether small or big drains were constructed. From repair of roads to blacktopping, improving power system or installation of street-lights, everything has been done in a better way,” said Billawaria, expressing gratitude towards residents of Gangyal for their support and cooperation.
