Four arrested with heroin


Jammu: Continuing drive against drug menace, various Nakas were established at different locations by Police. One such Naka was laid by a team from Police Station Janipur, wherein two persons, coming on a scooty (JK02BB 4126) from Paloura towards Suraksha Bihar, tried to flee when signaled to stop for checking. They were apprehended and on search, 34 gm heroin was recovered from their possession. The accused, identified as Banu Jamwal, son of Manjeet Singh, resident of New Plot and Mohit Sudan, son of Raj Kumar Sudan, resident of Mendher Ari at present Suraksha Vihar, were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 60/ 2021 under sections 8/20/21/29 of NDPS Act was registered against them at Police Station Janipur. The arrest and recovery was made by SHO Janipur Insp Nayat Ali under supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Check Post Nomain during surprise checking, intercepted a motorcycle (JK20-9824) on way from Domail to Katra. During search, Police recovered Chitta (heroin) like substance from possession of two accused identified as Rajinder, son of Puran Chand and Rakesh Kumar, son of Kartar Singh, both residents of Pardhal, Tehsil Katra, district Reasi. The duo was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 80/2021 under sections 8/21/22 of NDPS Act was registered against both at Police Station Katra.
