STATE TIMES NEWSUDHAMPUR: Field Outreach Bureau, Udhampur in coordination with Press Information Bureau, Jammu, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India today organised a webinar on ‘Post Covid19 complications- Problems & Treatment related to ENT’ by involving two prominent ENT specialists from Health & Medical Education Department, district Reasi.In her address, Neha Jalali, Deputy Director, Press Information Bureau, Jammu and Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K & Ladakh region appreciated district Administration & Health & Medical Education Department, Reasi for its best efforts vis-à-vis Covid19 appropriate behaviour & thus becoming first district in Jammu province to report zero positive cases today. She further said that the biggest aim of conducting this kind of a webinar is to make masses aware about the post Covid19 complications related to ENT and Press Information Bureau, Jammu, Regional Outreach Bureau, J&K have been on toes spreading the awareness right from the day the first Covid19 case was detected in our country and this webinar is a kind of a webinar in such a series.Dr. Manish Sharma, Consultant ENT, Health Department, Reasi in his address emphasized that the early diagnosis of either Covid19 or Mucormycosis is very important & any compromise in it would lead to serious implications of these diseases. The doctor further threw light on the prognosis & post Covid19 complications vis-à-vis ENT & impressed that if any symptoms or complications persist for some time like the loss of smell or taste etc., the patient must take the early prescription/medical advice without delay & get tested for Covid19 if asked by the medical practitioner.Dr. Pooja Rani, other ENT Specialist, Health Department, Reasi while briefing the audience on the post Covid19 complications vis-à-vis ENT emphasized that even a Paracetamol should not be taken without consultation. She further said that the excessive use of steroids without consultation has proved disastrous for Covid19 patients especially in those having a history of type-II diabetes and the Mucormycosis cases are reported in such patients due to compromised immunity.Besides students, the webinar was attended by Sheikh Mudasir Amin, Media & Communications Officer, Press Information Bureau, Jammu, Shahid Mohammad Lone, Field Publicity Officer, Anantnag, Adil Shameem Andrabi, Filed Exhibition Officer, Jammu, Gurnaam Singh, in charge Field Outreach Bureau, Rajouri and Vijay Matoo, in charge Field Outreach Bureau, Kathua. The webinar was moderated by Khursheed Yousuf, Field Publicity Officer, Udhampur.
