JAMMU: Freedom Fighters Memorial Association (FFMA) on Saturday held a protest in support of Dharmarth Trust employees who are protesting for last 48 days in support of their demand of constitution of a board for all the temples under Dharmarth Trust or merger of same with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. FFMA members assembled at Dogra Shourya Sthal, Amphalla and raised slogans against J&K administration for not resolving issues of Dharmarth trust employees. “This is a genuine and justified demand of employees,” Rajiv Mahajan Vice Chairman FFMA said while addressing media.
He urged Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to bring an ordinance for removing present structure of Dharmarth Trust besides constituting new council by framing new laws to run affairs of trust properly besides protecting temples’ property. He further demanded constituting an independent Commission to conduct an audit of all properties of temples under Dharmarth Trust within J&K and outside made by persons having control on it from 1947 to till date and bringing the same on white paper. He said that open loot of sources and possessions of Raghunath Temple by Dharmath Trust has reached such an extent that after selling of land belonging to different temples in J&K, now some valuable books worth several crores have been reportedly stolen.
He demanded CBI enquiry for all misdeeds of Dharmarth Trust. Others present in the protest included Ved Gandotra Chairman, R C Puri President, Sukhminder Singh Maini Organiser and Parbhat Kapahi.
