Jammu: A 70-year old man and his son were killed while three others suffered injuries when a van and a truck collided on Jammu-Pathankot highway in Samba district in early hours of Saturday, police said. Six others got injured in a separate mishap at Nowshera.In Samba incident, both vehicles were coming from Kathua and accident took place near Mansar Morh around 2 AM, a police official said. He further said Hans Raj, son of Shallo Ram and his son Sohan Lal (35), residents of Ramgarh area of Samba, died on spot, while three others Ramesh Chander (60), son of Bindraban, resident of Chumbian; Himant Kumar(35), son of Rattan Chand, resident of Chumbian and Gorav Kumar (18), son of Yashpaul, resident of Sajadpur Ramgarh were taken to hospital in a serious condition.Six passengers travelling in an Auto were seriously injured when the vehicle got hit by an over-speeding tipper at Lamberi. The auto bearing registration No JK20A-2587 was carrying six passengers and was hit by an over-speeding tipper bearing registration No JK11D-9281 resulting into serious injuries to all passengers. All the six passengers Mukesh Kumar, son of Tej Ram, resident of Kalakote; Bilal Hussain, son of Makhan Khan, resident of Mayari Kalakote; Sanjeev Kumar, son of Satpaul, resident of Kalakote; Kartar Singh, son of Balak Ram, residnet of Solki; Dvr. Balwinder Singh, son of Gurdev Singh, resident of Lamberi and Mohd Hamid, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Solki were immediately shifted to Sub District Hospital Nowshera. The police have seized both the vehicles and registered a case for investigation.
