JAMMU: A case of cheating and conspiracy has been registered at Gharota police station against a father and son due, who defrauded a retired Superintendent of Police of lakhs of rupees. Police conducting raids to arrest accused Joginder Lal and his son Shamsher Singh, both residents of Bhalwal. According to Gharota police, a case was registered against accused Shamsher Singh in Gandhi Nagar police station in past as well. As per the complaint lodged in Police Station, former S P Som Raj Dutta stated that he had given lakhs of rupees as advance to accused Joginder Singh and Shamsher Singh for buying land in Kot area of Gharota. The accused gave him documents after showing a piece of land but when he verified those documents with revenue officials, it was found that aforesaid land does not belong to them and both of them have defrauded former SP of lakhs of rupees by giving him fake documents.\ After this, former SP approached SDPO Akhnoor and narrated whole episode. A case has been registered at Gharota Police Station on instructions of SDPO Akhnoor.
