JAMMU: It is strange to hear Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister of erstwhile State expressing concern for poor condition of Jammu people. We ask her, can she name even a single development project for Jammu since 2002, when her party was in power. Whenever we demanded some real good development project, she always replied, ‘Jammu Ne Hum ko Kya Dia Hai’. We would advise her to shed anger which she has assimilated in her because of ill treatment she suffered from Center Government, forget & forgive and start working with other people to bring peace in the region. It was stated by the President Citizen’s Forum, R K Chadha, in a press statement issued here on Tuesday.Chadha further said, “Jammu is going to be benefited by new land laws. It would increase industry, tourism, business and other commercial activities to this region but PDP, NC, Congress & Apni Party are howling that outsiders will buy land, which would be against benefits of local people, but how it will be harmful, they don’t explain. According to them, 4 lakh Kanals of encroached land, taken at through away prices under Roshni Act, is beneficial for people of Jammu, but this land, if sold can get lakhs of crores for development, is harmful for Jammu. I would like to ask who are they to decide whether we should sell our land or not and increase our business. In Jammu, we have never seen a beautiful building coming up either by Government or Private parties, because of shortage of funds at both levels.”
