SRINAGAR: The Excise enforcement teams headed by Excise & Taxation Officer, South, North and Central Excise Range on Monday destroyed illicit poppy crops spread over a total of 1 Kanal and 11 Marlas of land.The poppy crop was destroyed on the directions of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir and Excise Commissioner, J&K Government and under the close supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Kashmir, Tahir Ajaz.Meanwhile, it was given out that the Illicit poppy crop spread on total of 833 Kanals and 17 Marlas of land has been destroyed in Kashmir valley till date and 14 numbers of FIRs have been registered. It was given out that the eradication drive shall continue till all illicit poppy/cannabis crops in Kashmir valley is destroyed.
