JAMMU: Former Member Legislative Council (MLC), Ch. Vikram Randhawa, on Thursday started the blacktopping work of Stadium Road in Old Satwari area of Gandhi Nagar assembly segment.Randhawa said it was a long pending demand of the people of the area as the road was black-topped 25 years ago and since then it was never macadamized or repaired.He said that it was in dilapidated condition following which locals were facing many hardships.While launching a scathing attack on those who were elected from this constituency for two consecutive terms and had remained ministers, Randhawa said that they developed areas only of their interest, whereas, other hamlets had been ignored.He said that BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to provide all round development to the people irrespective of the caste, colour and creed.He also urged upon the party cadres to aware people regarding people friendly initiatives of the government so that they can avail the benefits of welfare schemes.He said that the government has launched number of welfare schemes which are focused on the common man.Randhawa further said that government has sanctioned many mega projects for Jammu and Kashmir which will usher an era of development.The locals present on the occasion expressed gratitude to Vikram Randhawa for taking up their genuine demand with the authorities for its redressal. They expressed happiness and extended support to the BJP in coming future.Others present were Bharat Bhushan (Satwari Mandal President), Avtar Singh (Naib Sarpanch), Harpal Singh (Panch), Prithvi Singh, Capt. Kehar Singh, Joginder Singh Pamma, Balbir Singh, Paramjit Singh, Snajay Kumar, Joginder Kumar, Sham Lal, Suraj Rana and Diler Singh.
