Ensure supply of essential commodities at affordable prices during Ramadan: Sajjad


Banihal: National Conference leader and District President Ramban, Sajjad Shaheen on Tuesday has demanded the J&K Administration to take immediate measures to ensure the supply of essential commodities, vegetables and fruits at affordable prices during the month of Holy Ramzan beginning from Wednesday. In a media statement here He said, the people have started facing a shortage of several essential commodities due to various factors, including the frequent road blockade and traffic jamming on the National Highway. The shortage is leading to an escalation in their prices impacting the common man. Therefore, he demanded that the state government takes immediate measures to control the situation. Shaheen said, that Ration scarcity and defunct utility services are posing enormous problems to the people of entire Ramban district, especially in different areas of Banihal constituency that include Mahu, Mangit, Khari, Nadika, Trigam, Kumbla, Buzla, Srachi, Hinjhal, Fagow, Tethar, Chachal, Neel, Chaknarwah, Chamalwas, Shagan, Hingni, Zonchwas, Sumar, Harog, Pogal, Maligam, Paristan, Gagarnag, Sarachi , Chaka, Sarbagni, Amkot, Thachi and other parts of District Ramban.
He also expressed concern over the huge rise in the prices of chicken and mutton and said that the government has failed to take appropriate measures to regulate the mutton prices. Shaheen urged the J&K administration to ensure adequate supplies of essentials particularly ration, sugar and kerosene oil, LPG Cylinders besides un-interrupted electricity and drinking water during the holy month of Ramadan.
