JAMMU: Col SS Pathania, President Sainik Samaj Party (SSP), JKUT expressed his concern over the government move of starting the classes of 10th and 12th in schools with restrictions and COVID protocols in place.Though, intents of government are good, however timing appears to be little questionable and pre mature, he said adding that fear of third wave is looming large and exposing of children and teaching faculty, to a prolonged period, is likely to be a spreader.A large number of parents, who are not yet fully vaccinated, too are vulnerable to COVID, he said adding that in most of the states, which has opened the schools, it has been seen that a sudden rise has taken place, in the number of new infection.College going students, remain the first priority for vaccination and fully vaccinated students should be permitted to attend classes. Similar arrangements must be made for students going to schools, and unless fully vaccinated, students should not be allowed to attend the classes, he said.Pathania urged Lt Governor to plan the vaccination of students of 10th to 12th classes on war footing, along with teaching faculty and members of the family.
