Medical camp organised by MVD Kulgam

KULGAM: Assistant Regional Transport Office, Kulgam organised free Medical-cum-Awareness camp in collaboration with Health Department, Kulgam for Drivers of passenger vehicles at ARTO Office Complex, Kulgam in which a large number of Drivers (including Transporters) of various passenger vehicles participated. Medical check-up including Eye, Sugar, BP etc. of Drivers was conducted through a team of Doctors and para-medical staff provided by the Chief Medical Office Kulgam.On this occasion, ARTO Kulgam Dr. Mohammad Zubair Lattoo impressed upon the Transporters/Drivers to ensure safety of road users and to ensure implementation of Motor Vehicles Act/Rules strictly so that road accidents may be minimised and precious human lives might be saved.Dr. Zubair exhorted upon the drivers drivers to follow Traffic Rules for safe driving on roads. He cautioned drivers to desist from over-speeding and promote usage of seat belts while driving.Later on MVD Kulgam headed by Motor Vehicle Inspector Akhter Mohiuddin conducted a vehicle checking drive to streamline vehicular movement in the district.During the drive, more than 30 vehicles were challaned and an amount of Rs 10400 was recovered from offenders under various sections of Motor Vehicles Act whereas 10 vehicles were black listed.While sensitizing the drivers regarding traffic rules, Akhter Mohiuddin said that violation of traffic rules leads to road accidents and fatalities. He said adherence to regulations can avert road accidents besides making commutation hassle free.
