Eid prayers held in Eidgahs across Jammu region

Bhadarwah: Like other parts of the UT of J&K, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with Zeal, gaiety, gesture and full of religious fervor across Chenab Valley on Tuesday and after two years of restrictions Eid Prayers were offered in Eidgahs amid heavy downpour.
Eid-ul-Fitr is the festival of thanksgiving and celebrated after the culmination of holy month of Ramadan.
With the sighting of Shawaal Crescent last night, the Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today across Jammu and Kashmir.
In Bhadarwah, from morning people started assembling in the premisses of Jamia Masjid Bhadarwah where from they marched towards historical Eid Gah after two years of restrictions in the form of huge procession while chanting religious slogans.
Despite torrential rains, large number of people participated in congregation and prayed for the betterment of society.
At the end special prayer was also offered by the Jamia Masjid Imam to bring Joy, prosperity, brotherhood, communal harmony in the UT as well as country as a whole.
After Eid prayers hundreds of people gathered to pay obience to the Islamic flag traditionally known as ‘Jhande Ki Salami’. This unique tradition of paying obience to the flag on the eve of Eid is being performed since more than 5 decades. Now this ritual has spread in whole Chenab Valley and most parts of Jammu province.
On the occasion, ADC Bhadarwah Dil Mir Choudhary, SDPO Bhadarwah Meer Gafoor, SHO Jatinder Singh Rakwal and President Anjuman-e-islamia Bhadarwah Pervaiz Ahmed Sheikh greets the people.
Security was beefed up in Bhadarwah, Doda, Ramban, Banihal, Kishtwar and other areas on the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr by the administration to maintain law and order.
UDHAMPUR: Like other parts of country Eid-ul- Fitr was also celebrated with religious fervour and festivity across the District Udhampur.
The biggest religious congregation held at Eid Gah, Adarsh Colony Udhampur, where thousands of Muslims offered Eid- Ul- Fitr Nimaz.
Elaborate arrangements were also made by the district administration Udhampur for the smooth celebration of Eid-Ul-Fitr festival across the Udhampur district.
In her message, DC Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib extended her warm greetings to the people of the district on auspicious occasion of Eid- ul-Fitr. She added that such occasions help in strengthen the bond of love and brotherhood among different sections of the society of the District Udhampur.
On the occasion, Hindus exchanged sweets with their Muslim friends and extended greetings on this auspicious occasion.
Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour across Ramban district on Tuesday. The biggest congregation took place at Jamia Masjid Sharif Ramban and Eidgah, Banihal, Gool and Batote, where hundreds of devotees performed Namaz-e-Eid and prayed for peace, development and prosperity of the UT as well as the country.
Elaborate arrangements including security and other were made by the district and police administration for smooth celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
Eid Namaz was also offered at other mosques of the town and its outskirts including, mosques of Chandrog, Maitra and Upper Ramban.
On the occasion, officers of district administration extended greetings to the Muslim brethren. The Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat Islam, SSP, Mohita Sharma greeted the people of Ramban and said that such occasions promotes unity, communal harmony and brotherhood in the UT as well as in the district. The festival was also celebrated in Banihal, Ukhral, Batote, Gool and Rajgrah.
