Dr Tahir lauds centre’s vision, development plans for J&K



JAMMU: Paying tributes to martyrs of Pulwama attack, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson, Dr Tahir Choudhary on Sunday said the that effective policies and vision of union government led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi towards Jammu and Kashmir, have resulted in decline in terrorist activities and ushered new era of development for the Union Territory.
Dr Tahir Choudhary said that the terrorist and stone pelting activities have been significantly declined due to effective policies and concrete measures taken by Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
“Due to several initiatives and job opportunities announced by the government for the welfare of youth. The energy of youth channelized towards the right direction,” he added.
Citing reports, Dr Tahir added that the militancy incidents also reduced to 244 in 2020 from 594 in 2019.
He added 127 people were injured from ceasefire violations in 2019 but that dropped to 71 in 2020. There were 216 infiltration attempts in 2019, but it has reduced to 99 in 2020, he said.
He informed that the policies and measures adopted by the Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will completely eradicate militancy from Jammu and Kashmir.
He slammed the people and politicians for befooling people on the issues of restoring statehood. “As per assurance of the centre, the statehood will be restored on appropriate time. And warned those, who are spreading false propaganda on the issue of restoration of statehood,” Dr Tahir said.
He assured that the BJP government is committed to the welfare of people and will address the issues of people grievances.
“The BJP government will fulfill its promise to restore the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir on appropriate time,” he said while hailing the statement of the Union Home Minister.
He further hailed that union government development plans for Jammu and Kashmir.
“The union government has aimed to resettle all displaced Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley by 2022 along with creating 25,000 jobs for the people there and train connectivity to the region,” he said. He added that Jammu and Kashmir is on the right path of development.
