JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma on Tuesday convened a video conference meeting to review the progress on issuance of Short Term Permits (STPs) for mining minor mineral to meet the requirement for construction material for smooth execution of work on Udhampur- Srinagar- Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project.The meeting was attended by Director Geology and Mining, Vikas Sharma; Chief Engineers of Railways and other concerned Officers while Deputy Commissioner Reasi and Ramban attended the meeting through video conferencing.The Deputy Commissioner Ramban informed that the sites have been identified for mining in the district and NOCs have also been issued by concerned departments. He also informed that revenue officers are preparing Geo reference site plan after which the site plans would be submitted to Geology and Mining department.The DC Reasi informed that the district administration has constituted committee comprising officers from all the concerned departments to identify suitable locations. She also informed that some sites have already been identified in the district.The Divisional Commissioner asked both the DCs to identify other additional Short Term Permit locations in the districts. He also asked them to hold a meeting with railways and concerned departments and resolve the issues. He also instructed the DCs furnish all NOCs of identified locations.
