Dhara village to get all-weather road connectivity in record time


BHADARWAH: After a prolonged wait of more than 2 decades, residents of hill top Dhara village known for it’s scenic beauty and growing exotic vegetables in Jammu and Kashmir’s additional district Bhadarwah finally heaved a sigh of relief as Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) authorities after completing the earth work in record time started laying black-top on 5 Km long Dhara-Dhalvali road with a target to complete it before the end of this month.
DDC Chairperson Doda Dhananter Singh along with DDC member from Bhadarwah West and native of village Dhara Thakur Yudhvir Singh Baloria kick started the black topping of the 5km long road much to the delight villagers, who had gathered their in large numbers to see their dream becoming a reality.
AEE PMGSY Bhadarwah sub division Atta Mohd Sheikh said that despite Corona Curfew, prolonged lockdown and extended harsh winters, they managed to complete the construction of the road in record time as district administration and residents extended full cooperation in making the otherwise difficult to excute project a success that too before the stipulated time period.
Dhara is a hill top village surrounded with pine forest located 10 kms west of Bhadarwah town and majority of the residents are dependent on agricultural practices and mainly grow exotic vegetables, aromatic plants and high quality apples.
Residents believe that the road which remained with R&B department for 18 years without any progress was finally taken over by PMGSY last year will surely open new avenues of Development for them.
