POONCH: Organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), annual inter-district all age groups boys UT level Taekwondo Championship got underway at Indoor Hall of Sports Stadium, here on Tuesday.The event was declared open by the Chief Guest, Rahul Yadav, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Poonch in the presence of Guest of Honour, Krishan Lal Sharma and Premparkash Luthra, and Nirdosh Kumar I/c Manager Sports Stadium Poonch and Er Saleem Bandey. Prof Fateh Mohd Abassi was Special Guest on the occasion.Earlier, district officer DYSS, Mohd Qasim welcomed the Chief Guest and other distinguished gathering as also the participating teams and officials.The Chief Guest met with all the budding players of 14 Districts of J&K UT and gave his good wishes for the event. He also congratulated Department of Youth Services and Sports for organising the mega event in Poonch.All bouts are held under the technical supervision of Rajinder Singh PET from DYSS who is also the convenor of the event.The technical panel include Pushap Thakur, Nitin Rathore, Farooq Ahmed Malik, Sandeep Kumar, Simar Kour, Amit Sharma, Waqaur and Pawandeep Singh.The selection committee is headed by Atul Pangotra, international referee and Barinder Singh Manhas, national referee.Prominent present were Narinder Singh, Surinder Singh, Amresh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Sarla Rani, Batichiter Singh, Jasbir Singh and Sanjay Misri.
