RAJOURI: District Panchayat Election Officer Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh on Monday chaired a meeting of the concerned officers to discuss the arrangements to be put in place for the smooth and hassle free counting of votes being polled for the District Development Council elections 2020 in the district.The DPEO informed that the counting of the votes polled for the first ever District Development Councils is scheduled on December 22,2020 . He said counting in the district would be held in GDC Rajouri and Gujjar and Bakerwal Hostel Rajouri for different constituencies. He made it clear that only authorized persons and vehicles will be allowed to enter inside the venues.The DPEO directed the concerned officers from PDD and Jal Shakti Department to ensure uninterrupted Power, drinking water supply at the venue. He also asked the concerned officers to ensure a comprehensive and accurate dissemination of counting related information and details.The DPEO also issued directions regarding the security and barricading arrangements to be made at the venues. He also stressed on the officers to ensure adherence to all COVID-19 SOPs while performing election related activities.Additional Deputy Commissioner; Sher Singh, Superintending Engineer, SR Shukla; Returning Officers- Assistant Commissioner Development, Sushil Khajuria; Dy District Election Officer, Parveen Akhter; Executive Engineer PWD, Mohd Zubair; besides the contesting candidates of DDC elections were also present in the meeting.
