BARAMULLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo on Sunday chaired a meeting at famous tourist destination Gulmarg to review various arrangements in view of current winter season.The DC on the occasion took a detailed appraisal of various necessities put in place for winter tourism at the venue.He stressed for exploring every possibility for promoting winter tourism at Gulmarg and in its peripheral areas.Dr Itoo exhorted upon the concerned officers to put in place a viable mechanism so that the tourists coming at the venue do not face any inconvenience.He also directed to organize several sports activities that will attract tourists from different regions thereby developing tourism in the region.Moreover, DC emphasized to strictly follow all COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines so that any kind of risk is averted.He directed the concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply during the scheduled hours and also directed the concerned officers to keep men and machinery ready to tackle any kind of exigency that may arise due to heavy snowfall.Meanwhile, DC also met hoteliers and other concerned stakeholders and they apprised him about their issues and demands. After giving patient hearing to their demands, he assured them that all their grievances shall be redressed on priority.
