DBA Jammu organises literary programme

JAMMU: Dogri Bhasha Academy (DBA) Jammu organised a programme at K R Resort in Akhnoor on Monday with title ‘Virat Kavi Sammelan & Virat Samman Samaroh’. The programme was presided over by former minister and Dogra leader Sham Lal Sharma and Padmashri Narsingh Dev Jamwal and Padmashri Jitendra Udhampuri while Darshan Darshi, connoisseur of Dogri language; Dhyan Singh and Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh were the Special Guests.
The program started with formal welcome of all the dignitaries by the Founder of the academy, Yash Pal Nirmal while President, Roshan Baral explained about the programme. Former minister, Sham Lal Sharma, who presided over the programme, congratulated the organizers for the successful conduct of the event. Darshan Darshi said that it is really a big literature fair being held for first time in Jammu & Kashmir and congratulated all the organizers for the achievement. Dhyan Singh also lauded all the organizers for organizing a Kumbh of literature. Chief Guests Padamshri Narsingh Dev Jamwal and Padmashri Jitendra Udhampuri said that today, for the first time, it was felt that there is no dearth of people working in Dogri language.
On the occasion, Surendra Sagar was awarded Dogra Journalist award while Shamsher Singh Charak, MD Dainik State Samachar News was also honoured for his cooperation.
Others who were felicitated on the occasion included Prakash Premi Dr Naseeb Singh Manhas, Mohan Singh Slathia, Shiv Dev Sushil, Om Vidyarthi, Inderjit Kesar, Parveen Sharma, Dr Ashok Khajuria, Dhyan Singh, Dr Gyan Singh, Dr Sandeep Sufi, Dr Yash Raina, Brahmadutt, Sunil Kumar, Brij Mohan, Dr Shalini Rana, Dr Sushma, Dr Rattan Basotra, Rekha Thakur, Chander Shekhar Cartoonist, Rishi Kavi, Sunil Kumar, Tara Chand Kalandaria, Varsha Jamwal, Sonali Dogra, Kewal Kumar Kewal, Dr Kuldeep Dogra, Babu Bhatti, Jugal Chandan, Harbans Harsh and Harsh Kalotra.
Former Farmers Advisory Board Vice Chairman Daljit Singh Chib, former MLA Krishan Lal, Member of District Development Council Bhushan Baral and Ashok Choudhary were also present during the programme. The organising team included Yash Nirmal, Ankush Sharma, Dr Rakesh Bharti, Roshan Baral, Ajay J Sharma and Rajendra Ranjha.
