Jammu: Crime Branch Jammu arrested a West Pakistan Refugee hailing from Chak Santhal of Sialkote district of Pakistan for his involvement in fabricating a fake PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) after hatching criminal conspiracy with officials of Revenue Department.As per an official spokesperson of investigating agency, the sleuth of Crime Branch Jammu arrested a history-sheeter Prabhakar Singh @ Shoki, son of Late Lakhan Singh, resident of village Kot, Tehsil & District, Jammu, basically a West Pakistan Refugee hailing from Chak Santhal (Morha Shahpur) Tehsil & District Sialkote in a case registered at Police Station Crime Branch Jammu for his involvement in fabricating a fake PRC (Permanent Resident Certificate) after hatching criminal conspiracy with concerned revenue authorities.The official further said that accused is a notorious criminal and a history sheeter of Police Station Gharota. He is involved in twelve cases registered vide 1) FIR No. 25/2020 under Sections 447, 144, 109, 147 of IPC, Sec 51 of National Disaster Management Act, 2005 at Police Station Gharota, 2) FIR No. 48/2007 under Sections 458, 382, 342, 506, 120-B of RPC at Police Station Gharota, 3) FIR No. 21/2005 under Sections 365 of RPC Police Station Gharota, 4) FIR No.65/2018 under Sections 447-A, 336, 504, 506 of RPC Police Station Gharota, 5) FIR No. 38/2019 under Sections 353 of RPC 3 Kashmir Public (property prevention of damage) Act Police Station Gharota, 6) FIR No. 20/2013 under Sections 307, 341, 336, 34 of RPC Police Station Gharota, 7) FIR No. 62/1989 under Sections 379 of RPC, 8) FIR No. 130/1990 under Sections 341 of RPC, 9) FIR No. 135/1994 under Sections 452/RPC 10) FIR No. 66/2000 under Sections 379/RPC and FIR No. 163/2000 under Sections 463 of RPC. He has also been accused of grabbing forest land.The official said that accused was detained under PSA in Kot Bhawal Jail Jammu for unlawful activities. Crime Branch Jammu approached Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Jammu for his custody. Accordingly, the accused was arrested on March 16, 2021 after taking his custody from Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.Giving details, he said that case owes its origin to a written complaint lodged by Munir Ahmed son of Ahmed Din, resident of Qtr No. 2 Ahata Amar Singh, opposite old PHQ, Palace Road, Jammu, alleging therein that accused Parbhakar Singh, Prem Singh, Kuldeep Singh and Deep Singh, all sons of Late Lakhan Singh and Baby Bala, daughter of Late Lakhan Singh, were basically West Pakistan Refugees and in year 1947 Jaggat Singh, father of Lakhan Singh migrated to India and got settled in Punjab where Punjab Government allotted him land in village Bela Tajowal, Tehsil Garh Shanker, Gurdaspur but after death of Jaggat Singh, Lakhan Singh sold the land and migrated to village Kot in Jammu, where he managed a Permanent Resident Certificate for himself as well as his children by fraudulent means and got employment in Power Development Department. The accused was Sarpanch of Panchayat Halqa Kot when PSA was slapped against him, he said, adding that accused was produced before the Court of Law and his Police remand has been sought for further investigation of the case.
