JAMMU: In a complaint filed by senior IPS officer Basant Rath through Advocate Sheikh Shakeel against Addl DGP Munish Sinha and others, the Court of Special Excise Mobile Magistrate Jammu has directed SSP Jammu to file action taken report in the allegations levelled by the senior IPS Officer Basant Rath seeking FIR against the officers responsible for non renovation of his official accommodation, which is in dilapidated condition having cracks on walls and roof, putting his life into risk.
The senior IPS Officer, in his complaint, has alleged that he stays in police quarter and the said building was last renovated in 2016-2017 and due to non renovation of the building most of its parts are weak and in dilapidated condition as its walls and roof have several cracks and water seeps into the room.
It is also submitted in the complaint that the IPS officer suffered electric shocks a number of times when it rains, the acts and negligence on the part of accused officers clearly indicates and demonstrates that there is a criminal conspiracy hatched by all the accused to kill him by the way of electrocution or by collapse of the said building, adds Basant Rath’s complaint.
The IPS officer’s complaint seeks FIR against Munish Sinha, Addl DGP, PHQ, Incharge Police Construction Division, Kamal Kishore Executive Engineer, Police Construction Division, Virender Kumar, Assistant Executive Engineer, Police Construction Division and Ranjit Chopra, contractor.
The Special Excise Mobile Magistrate has directed SSP Jammu to submit action taken report and fixed February 4, 2023 as next date of hearing.
