JAMMU: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu has trapped and arrested Head Constable Mohd Rafiq of Police Station Akhnoor, District Jammu while accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 on Tuesday.As per details, the ACB Jammu received a complaint on November 10, 2020 wherein complainant alleged that his vehicle was hit by an Army vehicle at Tanda Akhnoor on October 7, 2020 due to which he got injured.The complainant further stated that a FIR was registered at Police Station, Akhnoor and investigation started.He further alleged that during investigation of case, the Investigating Officer namely HC Mohd Rafiq of Police Station Akhnoor demanded an amount of Rs. 10,000 for preparing chargesheet against the Army driver and further threatened to produce challan against complainant in case he was not paid bribe.Taking cognizance of the complaint, a case vide FIR No. 20/2020 under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018 read with PC Act 1988 was registered at Police Station ACB Jammu and a team was constituted.The ACB team laid a trap in which the accused, namely HC Mohd Rafiq of Police Station Akhnoor was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant.Subsequently, search was also conducted at residence of accused namely HC Mohd Rafiq. Further investigation of the case is going on.
